Cave spider

Chair of insects

One of the only ones enjoying the darkness, the humidity and floating air in the culverts under the city centre. Hanging side by side, cathing the ones flying by. Weaving webs, stories, other kind of surfaces to hang on. A train passes and the roof is shaking, spiders with them.

The familiar cave spider is the large Meta menardi. The spider needs space to spin the characteristic orb web which is small considering the size of the spider. It is a large, dark brown, troglophilic cave spider that prefers to inhabit dim areas.

Entanglements to other actors: bricks & rituals, material memory, butterfly bush.
